A new list classifies the safest cities on the basis of violent crimes and real estate crimes.

Of the 50 cities to list in Texas, 28 are in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, nine are grouped between San Antonio and Austin, and seven are outside Houston. All these cities have reported less than two violent crimes for 1,000 people and less than 13 real estate crimes.
