Frito-Lay recalls Tostitos Salsa on health problems, warns the FDA

The consumption of the affected product could be a "serious risk" for some people.

The FDA alerted consumers to a new Frito-Lay reminder.

In a June 16 alert , the FDA revealed that Froto-Lay has published a voluntary reminder on one of its Tostitos products. According to the announcement of the company shared by the agency, the problem has an impact on Bocal Caissons de Salsa lawyer Tostitos of 15 ounces.

The salsa recalled is packed in a glass jar, with an UPC barcode which ends with 0559 and a better before the date of November 2, 2023 or November 3, 2023. This date can be found on the upper edge of pots, the alert explained.

As part of its voluntary recall, Froto-Lay makes an allergic alert on the hollows of affected Tostitos. The covered pots in the recall may contain an undeclared milk allergen due to a manufacturing accident.

"While the front of the affected pot is properly labeled like salsa to the Tostitos avocado, the back of the pot is poorly labeled with the nutritional information and declarations of another product," said the company. "As a result, allergen milk is not declared on the label."

Some consumers are invited to throw salsa.
