Although the USPS cannot always provide circumstances that can cause service disturbances, the agency works to keep us informed when they occur. Through his Service alert website , the postal service indicates that customers "may know if the mail is delivered, or if their post offices are open".

According to the most recent alerts, the USPS has just suspended services in two different states: New Hampshire and California.

On March 15, the agency revealed that four post offices in California were closed and, in a more recent update of March 17, the postal service announced a unique closure in New Hampshire.

The USPS closed an installation in Gonic, New Hampshire, according to the latest update of its service alert tool. Gonic’s post office is "closed due to security problems," postal service said in its alert.

"During this closure, customer mail will be available and retail services offered at the Rochester Post Office," added the agency.

Asked about the closure, the USPS spokesperson Stephen Doherty said Better life that this was done in response to a vehicle collision. As the Promotes Democratic daily reported, a The car crashed Gonic's post office on February 24. This has left "some structural damage to the ceiling" of the building, according to Doherty.

New Hampshire customers are not the only ones at the postal problems at the moment. The USPS announced in an alert of March 15 that the facilities are currently closed in four cities of California: Kernville, Wofford Heights, Posey and El Portal. These post offices are all "closed due to winter storms", according to the postal service update.

All the affected cities are located in the mountain range of Sierra Nevada. Kernville and Wofford Heights are in Kern County, while Posey is in the county of Tulare, both of which near Bakersfield in the southern part of the range. El Portal, on the other hand, is in the county of Mariposa, which is located in the western part of the mountains just north of Fresno.

Better life contacted the USPS to comment on California's closures, but has not yet heard.

But other California post offices can also be closed.

"Besides the heavy rains that fall and run away, there will be a lot of snowfall," said Oravec. "Floods are definitely a concern as we advance."

The USPS has closed post offices in California due to winter storms since February. Although the agency has made updates to the reopening of many of these installations in recent weeks, it seems that the post offices of Olema and Bolinas are always closed for the same reason as the newly installations closed.

"This temporary measure was made necessary in an abundance of caution and to protect the safety of our customers and our employees on the weather impacts of local flood waters," said USP Local press release About the closure of Olema and Bolinas post offices.
