Hair lacquer: hairstyle, handles and do it yourself!

Here is a couple of do -it -yourself tricks to ensure the well -being of your home environment starring the hair lacquer.

There are many Italians enthusiasts of "Do It Yourself", the English Dyi or in French Bricolage, alias do -it -yourself, here in Italy. Today we mean DIY as a real art that sets in motion brain, passion and manual skills, which exploits easily available elements and that lend themselves to the construction or repair of small and large objects. There are those who dedicate themselves to do -it -yourself through pastime, who does it out of necessity. Here is a couple of do -it -yourself tricks to ensure the well -being of your home environment starring the hair lacquer.

When was DIY born?

In Italy, DIY was born in the 70s, in the decade from 1974 to 1984, especially for the processes that had to do with wood as pipes, furniture and wardrobes, until it is conceived today as a restructuring process (if not "structuring" actual) of one's domestic environment according to one's personal tastes. DIY is therefore part of the custom of people aimed at taking care and improve their home in its uniqueness. And to be done strictly at home.

Why "do it"?

As we said, DIY is not only a hobby, on the contrary, the main purpose as well as the most effective purpose concerns the need to repair something that has broken and save time and money to restore its original functionality. It would therefore seem that the playful aspect of DIY is only a phase following the repair process: in the reality of the facts it is not so; Rather, the feeling of touching with your hand and building, repairing, handling objects and adjusting an asset of our property inevitably generates a personal satisfaction that goes well beyond the pure need for use of a tool.

An ecological approach

The intrinsic optimization of do -it -yourself is multiple: from economic savings, due to reuse of materials already available in our domestic environment, to the saving of time, as the materials are already available; Until the ecological aspect, which respects nature and avoids waste. The extraordinary thing of the DIY, in fact, is that wood, glass, iron, plastic, every material lends itself to being reaped and suitable for taking new life, both as furnishings and new object.

Lacquer

In the past it was believed that the lacquer was complicit in the enlargement of the ozone hole, this because of the gases present inside the famous cylinders. Well, today there are various brands of 100% ecological lacquer and which therefore do not present harmful gases both for man and for the surrounding environment. Ecological lacquers fix their hair, give them brilliance, protect them ... and they also lend themselves to a use, so to speak, outside the logics of makeup and "wig".

What is inside the lacquer?

This particular agent for cosmetics, designed mainly to keep the hair up against wind and humidity, substantially contains alcohol and water. However, in the mix there may also be elements such as preservatives, resins, oils and other substances that can be useful not only for the care of their body but also for DIY. Not surprisingly, in the past the lacquer was used to prevent oxidation of copper pots.

The lacquer on the handles

And here one of the many substances present in the lacquer is fundamental for do -it -yourself: formaldehyde, an organic molecule that, at room temperature, is manifested in the form of colorless gases with a pungent smell. Prolonged exposure to this gas is not recommended but, if used in the right doses and if applied on the handles of doors and windows, it manages to avoid the proliferation of mold and bacteria on the surfaces of the house and, consequently, guarantees correct sanitation of one of the most touched elements of the domestic environment.
