John Lennon's killer has just revealed his reason during the new audience

Mark David Chapman still refused parole.

On August 31, Chapman had his 12th parole audience. He has one every two years since 2000. As indicated by the Associated Press, thetranscription of the hearing was released after submitting a request for information on freedom of information.

Chapman said he was looking for glory by killing Lennon. He called murder his "great answer to everything". He continued: "I was no longer going to be no one, more."

"I knew what I was doing, and I knew it was bad, I knew it was bad, but I wanted so much the fame that I was ready to give everything and take a human life," said Chapman . "It was bad in my heart. I wanted to be someone and nothing was going to stop that."

He recognized the evil he caused, saying, "I injured a lot of people everywhere and if someone wants to hate me, I'm fine, I understand."

In their denial, the commission of parole has cited "the selfish contempt for human life of global consequences". The board of directors also told Chapman that he had left "the world recovering from the void that [he] created".

The next hearing of Lennon's Killer is scheduled for February 2024. It is currently imprisoned at the Correctional Center of Green Haven in New York.

"It made me angry and jealous about the way I lived at the time. There was jealousy in there."

He also said: "It was just auto-gloire, points. It was nothing more. It was about it. There are no excuses."

The Conditional Liberations Council said in a statement at the time: "During the interview, you said that you committed this murder to seek glory. You said" infamy brings you glory ".
