Do not buy these products at Dollar Tree or Dollar General, the new report warns

A new report highlights potentially dangerous products sold in these stores.

A new report has revealed that Dollar Tree and Dollar General sell products that could be potentially harmful to consumers. The Environmental Justice Health Alliance for Chemical Policy Reform and Coming Clean, Inc.Recently attached To test toxic chemicals in Dollar Store Products, publish their results in a Campaign for Health Plus Solutions 2022. The researchers bought more than 200 products sold from a number of store retailers in dollars in the United States And in Canada and tested a total of 635 components or unique materials for these products for certain toxic chemicals. According to the report, more than half (53%) of all the products tested contained at least one concern chemical.

"Worried chemicals are those which, due to their inherent dangerous properties, present a risk known or reasonably suspected for human health and / or the environment," said the report. "The levels of concern for each chemical was established by Healthy Stuff Lab by examining the restricted levels in one or more of the most protective government, companies or third parties on the dangers in consumer products."

Dollar Tree has proven to have some of the most produced with toxic chemicals.

The researchers tested a total of 87 products from Dollar Tree alone in the United States and Canada and found that 60% of the items contained at least one chemical. They also tested the Family Dollar stores, which Dollar Tree has, and found that out of 37 total tested products, 49% included one or more toxic chemicals.

According to the report, the products of the two retailers included a number of worrying chemicals such as bisphenol A (BPA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and lead. Specific Dollar Tree and Family Dollar products found with these chemicals varied kitchen pots and pop-cren headphones in the microwave and mixed vegetable cans.

Several general products in dollars have also been included in the report.

In total, 32 products sold in General Dollar stores in the United States were analyzed by researchers. According to the report, 12 of these products contained at least one concerning chemicals, which means that 38% of retailer products made a potential danger for consumers. The products concerned by Dollar General were similar to those found at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, such as cooking pans.AE0FCC31AE342FD3A1346EBB1F342FCB

The researchers also pointed out that the popcorn of Orville Rédenbacher and the grated white chicken Clover Valley sold at this retailer had toxic coatings inside their packaging. The popcorn had perfluoroalkyle substances (PFAS) in its fat-resistant coating, while the white chicken had a toxic pvc coating inside the box.

But a different retailer turned out to have the highest percentage of products with toxic chemicals.

While researchers have identified a number of products sold at Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General with toxic chemicals, none of these retailers exceeded their list. Instead, five below have proven to have the highest percentage of products with at least one chemical. The researchers tested 38 products sold in five lower stores in the United States and found that 66% were tested positive for one or more toxic chemicals.
