The CDC has published a report in 2012 which has made it possible to better understand the first marriages between men and women from the United States that the Agency used a representative sample nationwide of more than 12,000 women and more 10,000 men aged 15 to 44 from 2006 to 2010 to analyze and publish trend-based conclusions and marital status differences based on a number of different factors. According to the CDC report, "the Calendar of the First Birth has influenced the duration of the first marriage for women and men".
The Agency found that women and men waiting for eight months or more to have their first child after their marriage had a significantly higher probability of making their marriage last at least 15 years. Women who gave birth to their first child in this period of this period had a 77% chance of their marriage up to 15 years. In comparison, women who had a premarital design - meaning their first child were born within seven months of their marriage - were only 48% likely to have their wedding last time. "These conclusions support other research that shows that the rise in premarital births is associated with decoupling marriage and fertility in recent decades," has concluded CDC.
