NTNU's conclusions show that women open to casual sex have exposed "a greater desire to compromise sex frequency if sex is less related to the expression of emotions and relational quality". They were therefore more likely to have sex with their partner, regardless of the circumstances.

The NTNU study is limited by its small size of the sample and the fact that the results were self-reported. But the study still contributes to the increasing amount of data contesting the myth that men enjoy sex more than women.
