Study says couples have more sex when women make the first move

Everything is on the initiation process.

In any article relationship that explores whatMen want women to have moreYou will see that the same answer appears again and again: "Initiate sex". And yet, according to a new study published in the journalEvolutionary behavioral sciences, men initiate sex more than three times more often than women. But it is to the detriment of the two parties involved: researchers found that sex was more common in couples where women have made the first move.

In order to determine some of the factors that affect the frequency of sex in a serious relationship, researchers at the University of Norwegian Science and Technology (NTNU) interviewed 92 couple aged 19 to 30 who had Summer together for as little as a month after nine years and generally had sex two to three times a week. As a result of their conclusions, researchers reviewed what won women more likely to take sex initiatives.

They identified two key factors: an attitude of a woman towards occasional sex in general and his level of passion. The latter makes - that a woman would be more inspired to make the first move if she strongly desided her partner - is barely breathtaking. But it is interesting to note that women who had a more open approach to occasional sex as a concept were more likely to initiate sex in their relationships.

Professor Leif Edward Otintesen Kennair of the department of the psychology of Ntnu, explained in aPress release That in this case, the occasional sex "describes how many women distinguish the sexual aspects of a relationship and its relational and emotional aspects."

NTNU's conclusions show that women open to casual sex have exposed "a greater desire to compromise sex frequency if sex is less related to the expression of emotions and relational quality". What this basically means that these women were less likely to, say, retain sex as a form of punishment not to do the dishes or return to the late house. They were therefore more likely to have sex with their partner, regardless of the circumstances.

The NTNU study is limited by its small size of the sample and the fact that the results were self-reported. And - taking into account all recent research indicating thatPeople have less sex and that couples are at an average of justthree times a month-The fact that the couples of the study had sex two or three times a week per week could indicate that they were more sexually in general.

But the study still contributes to the increasing amount of data contesting the myth that men enjoy sex more than women. And if you think it's a generational division, it should be mentioned that an investigation of November 2017 revealed that 90% of men over 50 would love if aWife made the first move. That's all to say that when women take a sexual initiative, everyone wins.
