"It's we" Creator shares the emotional story of his dream of his friend of dying
"Alex never stops talking about his night with his hero."
In celebration of thefinal seasonGame Of ThronesFirst minimal Sunday,It's us CreatorDan FogelmanShared a personal story on TwitterAbout the author behind the series,George R.R. Martin. Since he posted the tale, he went viral. And just like Fogelman's HIT NBC series, it's certain to make you cry.
More than a year ago, Fogelman was on his way to meet his friendAlex Hanan seeSpringsteen on Broadway In New York when he had an extremely excited phone call from Hanan.
"He speaks a mile a minute," Fogelman tweeted. "He spotted George R. Martin. He says he's going to talk to him. I beg him not. He hangs up on me."
He continued: "Now, a little Alex. It's bigger than life. Beautiful and charming ... with the best hair head you've ever seen. He is also obsessed withGame Of Thrones As a person you have ever known. And he never caught up with anyone, so I just know he'll go to GEORGE R. Martin. "
Of course, Fogelman arrives at the theater to know that Hanan not only had a photo with the elusive author, he also got his cell phone number. When Martin said in Hanan that he and his wife usually come out for a pizza after a show, Hanan even invited.
Throughout the show, Hanan debated if SMS or NO Martin. "I beg him to let him go," wrote Fogelman. "I know George will never answer and Alex will be disappointed."
But, faithful to the form, Hanan passes anyway with her and, to the bad surprise of Fogelman, Martin responds and invites them to join him and his wife in a local pizza.
Even then, Fogelman is convinced that everything is bad communication and they are about to be"ghost" Until Martin and his wife actually arrive.
They eat a pizza together for an hour and at the end of all this, Martin gives Hanan a coin of Westeros. (Sidenote: Can you believe that Martin, apparently, doors them with him?)
"Alex reacts stronger than what is appropriate for a 40-year-old man," Fogelman wrote.
But all the experience grew more in Hanan than Martin could have ever imagined.
"This is what George R Martin did not know that night. My beautiful and good hair, bigger than life, Alex plays a random case of lung cancer Step 4. He will spend a year later. I'm going dedicate the [season 3] first ofIt's us to him. But for this entire year, Alex never stop talking about his night with his hero. And in turn, I will never stop telling this story. "
Fogelman added that watching the last season ofGame Of Thrones "Will be bitter soft without alex texto-seat of boring spoilers."
Fogelman finished the thread saying that even if he misses his friend dearly, he knows he "watch TV tonight from above." And he believes that this story is "not only a reminder of the power of narration, but also a reminder of the importance of kindness (with no other reason than being kind) these days".
Well, Fogelman, you did it again.
