These are the most likely pets to get coronavirus
According to CDC, ferrets and cats are a particular risk of coronavirus.
These are not only humans who are susceptible to coronavirus. In recent months, members of the animal kingdom, including tigers and dogs, analyzed in the same way positively for the virus that causes Covid-19. However, there is another surprising animal that can be a particular risk of contracting coronavirus: ferrets.
WhileThe social nature of dogs can increase their risk To contact an infected person by coronavirus, a new video of the disease control and prevention centers (CDC) suggests that ferrets are actually more likely to catch the virus that causes Covid-19. According to a study of May published inScience,Dogs are relatively little at risk of developing coronavirus And "appeared not to support viral replication well."
However, the two ferrets andCats showed increased sensitivity to the virus, with cats particularly vulnerable to airborne transmission. While ferrets were considered more likely to catch coronavirus than dogs, which are only slightly sensitive, and chickens, ducks and pigs, known to have no risk of coronaviruses, cases of coronaviruses in ferrets studied were less severe than those identified in humans. Although the coronavirus in humans has been linked to aWide range of serious symptomsThe researchers found that the virus "can reproduce in the upper respiratory tract of ferrets for eight days up to eight days without provoking severe illness or death".
