But he exploded great time in 2020, when suddenly, because of the coronavirus pandemic, we ended up navigating on the internet to clean supplies, shoes, video games and everything that happens between the two. As practical as it is often, all online shopping experiences are not positive. To create our list, we have included both purely Internet companies and online versions of Brick-Mortar stores. We started with the2020 US Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) To see how sites marked on their 100-point scale, with 100 being the highest level of customer satisfaction. (For stores not specifically appointed in the ASCI survey, we used their "other stores" of the average satisfaction of 79).
Then we gathered notes of widely used consumer review sitesTrackpilot andConsumer business. After eliminating the stores that lacked missing notes of one or both of these sites, a list of 25 online shopping sites left. We then gave each of the metrics a weighted value before executing them through our exclusive algorithm to see how each site marked on our 100-point dissatisfaction index.
Our results show that online shopping sites typically have very favorable reviews - they have done better than brick and mortar stores in the ASCI report, to start. You can also see it in the way the index marks the cluster - there are two with very low dissatisfaction, three with a much higher dissatisfaction and the others are grouped into a quite narrow values set. However, the worst online store was so severe, it got the lowest satisfaction score on each metric we checked.
