During January 7, interview withMembers of the Internal Medicine Residence Program at the University of Washington in St. LouisFauci admitted that there was a chance to develop side effects of the vaccine, but stressed the fact that serious allergic reactions are extremely rare.

"There were 21 cases of serious allergic reactions, which brings it to an incidence of about 1 each million ... almost invariably in people with a history of serious allergic reactions," said Fauci. "So yes, there is an unwanted event, but it is easily manageable." And if you are worried, you may have been exposed,If this part of your body hurts, you might have Covid.

Fauci indicated that most of the side effects associated with any inoculation - which can range from pain fever at the injection site-occurs between 24 and 72 hours after administration of the vaccine. But he said that people almost certainly know if they had an adverse reaction within six weeks.

"[If] you look when the so-called" long-term "[effects occur] ... The overwhelming majority, more than 90%, occurred between 30 and 45 days after the dose," he explained , adding: "It would be extraordinarily unusual if you see unplanned long-term effects."

Fauci said there were still uncertainties about what the vaccine can protect against.

Although Vaccines in Moderna and Pfizer have been rented for their high efficiency rates, Fauci admitted that medical experts are still uncertain, whether they are able to preventasymptomatic extent.

In addition to questioning the effectiveness of the asymptomatic infection vaccine, Fauci said: "It is conceivable that a vaccinated can be protected from being sick but has always reproduced the virus in their nasal pharynx". While many people are looking forward tostop wearing masks in publicThat day could still be months. If people cease to wear masks, social distancing and practicing a good hygiene of the hands before realizing a flock immunity - which "would require between 75 and 80% of the vaccinated population," according to Fauci - the virus will continue spread.

"The only thing you do not want to do is protect yourself, but spread to someone else, which is a very good reason to wear a mask," he said. And if you want to stay safe,That's the most likely to give you Covid, a new study says.
