The only thing that all those who catch the delta variant has in common, says CDC
Unvaccinated and vaccinated persons infected with the variant share this.
The Delta variant Taken over the United States in recent weeks, increasing occurrence of COVIDs, hospitalizations and deaths. The rapid propagation variant is therefore with regard to disease control and prevention centers (CDC) have just been reversedMask recommendations For people vaccinated in areas where the virus moves away on July 27th. Despite the new orientation of the mask and the increase in reports of revolutionary infections, director CDCRochelle Walensky, MD, maintains that the new strain mainly affects unvaccinated people. But what is vaccinated or not, the CDC has found disturbing similarities in sick people with the Delta variant.

On July 27, Leaders of the CDCHeld a press briefing From where they announced the updated mask tips from the agency and discussed the spread of the virus with the delta variant now dominant. According to CDC data, 8 in 10 cases of sequenced COVIDs are infected by Delta, as of this - and this concerns, because the variant has notable significant differences from previously dominant strains.
"I have seen new scientific data from recent epidemics surveys showing that the Delta variant behaves uniquely differently from the past strains of the virus that cause Covid-19", "said Walensky during the briefing.
One of the main changes is that everyone infected with the delta variant "may be contagious and spread the virus to others", whether unaccinated or vaccinated, in accordance with the CDC. Walensky says that these new scientific data appeared recent Delta variant epidemics in several states and other countries. "This new science is worrying and unfortunately deserves an update of our recommendations," she said.
According to the CDC, people vaccinated and unvaccinated with COVID have a similar amount of viruses in their body. When the alpha variant was dominant, health experts felt that people vaccinated had reduced viral loads and could not transmit the virus to others. However, Walensky says that vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant could expand the virus further.
"We felt that it is important for people [vaccinated] to understand that they have the potential to transmit a virus to others," Walensky said. "And this is important in the case, for example, a vaccinated person who could visit a member of the immunodepressed family. We wanted to make sure they took the necessary precautions not to transmit the virus."

Walensky stated that the transmission rate among vaccinated individuals is still low because the revolutionary infections are rare. According to ABC News, an unpublished internal CDC document obtained by the outlet showed that153 000 cases of symptomatic breakthrough have occurred from last week on more than 156 million fully vaccinated adults. This is only 0.098% of people vaccinated, even if it does not include asymptomatic breakthrough infections and revolutionary teenage cases.
"Vaccinated individuals continue to represent a very small amount of transmission in the country", confirmed Walensky during the press briefing. "Transmission in the country right now, the vast majority of transmissions occur in non-vaccinated individuals."
The CDC also believes that the risk of symptomatic breakthrough infection with the Delta variant is reduced by seven times by vaccines. And the reduction of hospitalizations and deaths is even higher, at 20 times. "We continue to strongly encourage everyone to be vaccinated. To be vaccinated continues to prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death, even with Delta," Walensky said.
