The FDA has just announced the recall of four lots of Chantix.
On August 16, the FDA announced that Pfizer had voluntarilyrecalled four many Chantix, a medicine used to help patients stop smoking.
Recall-affected drugs include 56 Chantix 0.5 mg tablet accounts, cylinders of 56 Chantix 1 mg tablet accounts and cardboard boxes containing 0.5 mg blasters of CHANTIX tablets and 1 mg of Chantix tablets. Photos of newly recalled drugs, which were distributed in the United States and Puerto Rico between June 2019 and 2021, can be found on the FDA website.

This is not the first time Chantix has beenSubject to a reminder These last months. According to the notice of reminder, the drug is recalled because of the presence of n-nitroso-varenicline, a type of nitrosamine, which exceeds the acceptable daily admission threshold (ADI) dictated by Pfizer.
"N-nitroso-vreanicine ingestion can be associated with theoretical potential at the risk of increasing cancer in humans, but there is no immediate risk for patients taking this medicine," Recall notice stipule. The booth of Chantix in July was linked to the same potential concerns of contamination.
