In 2002, when she was 20 years old, Sigler returned home after filming an episode ofSopranos And went to take a shower. By walking, she felt an intense and strange sensation in her leg.

"It was that feeling just before getting pins and needles, this strange tingling, like your dormant legs," she saidWebmd in 2016. Sigler experienced a similar feeling when she hadLyme disease In 2001. "I did not know if it was a relapse or what it was," she continued.

Immediately after his diagnosis, Sigler did not experience any symptoms. While speakingToCharm In 2016, the actor admitted that she "was denied" on the disease. "I did not take my medication. I did not want to live a life to think about the MS because I was not symptomatic," she explained.

"I thought this job would not come anymore," she saidCharm. "I thought people would see me as sick and do not see me like me."

Working with a therapist helped sigler to realize that she needed to ask for help with her friends and family and keep her illness a secret does not hurt.
