This state has just closed bars for at least another month
Another state joins the list of those who stop again after reopening.
A state knowing huge increases in COVID-19 cases closed the bars again after completing it in May. There were 13,000 cases in Arizona on May 15, but at the end of June, this number was nearly 75,000, according to theAssociated press.
In an executive order signed on June 29, Governor Ducey announced that bars, indoor gymnasiums, cinemas and aquatic parks will be closed until July 27. The order said that the bars could still serve alcohol to customers via the windows to take away, on delivery and reader. It also forbids groups of more than 50 people to gather unless social distancing is sufficient. After announcing the executive order, Gov. Ducey expressed the importance of carrying a mask. "Arm yourself with a mask. It's your best defense against the virus," he says. "We will do what is necessary, and I mean everything that is necessary, protect the lives and livelihoods of the Arizonans." Several cities have issued compulsory mask orders despite the absence of one on the state level - Phoenix being one. But the number of cases is so high that hospital capacity is currently 84%. More than 1,500 people in the state are dead from the virus.
