This change of alcohol in restaurants could become permanent, worry about experts

The American Public Health Association and the Alliance of American Alcohol are two public health advocacy groups warning dangerous consequences of liquor-related laws, including higher cases of alcohol dependence, driving in drunkenness and minor drinks, among others.

"The more the alcohol is available, the more likely we are to see increases to drink and the damage associated with that," said Alicia Sparks, Vice President of the Alliance Alliance, saidInternal business community. "We fully support small businesses. We just want to think about how we can help them grow safer for communities."

But the battle can already be lost. States like Ohio, Massachusetts, Iowa, as well as the District of Columbia,have already made their permanent to-go alcohol allowances. Texas, Oklahoma, Maryland and Florida are about to make the same modification of their laws. Mark Whatley, Vice President of the National Restaurant Association for State Affairs and Basic Advocacy, he hoped that at least 40 states would make the same concessions by the end of the year.
