When you need a wing solution, order judiciously with our guide.

Let's face it: once you've had a desire to crispfries chicken fingers Or saucy wings, there is really no legume. However, a trip to Zaxby's, a southern favorite, can quickly turn into more things you have not been negotiated if you are not careful. That's why we chose the smartest choices on the ZAXBY menu - and marked the biggest red flags! - So, you can always give you a quick and delicious meal without getting out rails.

Wings

Best: Traditional bone wings

300 calories, 19 g of grease (5 g saturated grease), 340 mg of sodium, 0 g of carbohydrates (0 g of fiber, 0 g sugar), 30 g protein

Even if you prefer boned, it is best to stick to traditional drums and to flankers to free up nearly 700 milligrams of sodium carbohydrates and 27g. Even when Zaxby's sweet and zaxby barbecues, bone wings are a much smarter choice than their breaded and fried counterpart. "It's one thing if the chicken was bare fried, but the fond on boneless wings adds not only additional calories, but excess sodium and fat," says Jane Ujatu, a registered dietician.

Worst: boneless wings

360 calories, 18 g of grease (2.5 g saturated grease), 1000 mg of sodium, 27 g of carbohydrates (2 g of fiber, 1 g of sugar), 23 g protein

Drague in the panking and dunked in the fryer, boneless wings are delicious, but a horrible decision to make at the fast food like Zaxby's. In only five boneless wings, you will have accumulated most of your day in sodium. What is worse, most people probably order 10 wings, or even a meal with five wings and fries, which will double your calories and your salt - plus all the rest. Unfortunately, no matter if you eat these naked clouds or with any of the zaxby sauces - sodium levels are only worsening, as well as the number of calories and the sugar content. "The Wimpy Torch, Language Hunting, Nuclear, Insane and Even Teriyaki has more than 1 4,000 milligrams of sodium for only five boneless wings," says Ujoatu. "It's just crazy." Forget these babies even exist and stick to standard bone wings.

Sandwich

Best: grilled chicken sandwich

530 calories, 22 g of fat (4.5 g saturated grease, 2 g of trans fat), 1,510 mg of sodium, 46 g of carbohydrates (3 g of fiber, 15 g sugar), 38 g of protein

It is not surprising that the grilled option here is the best, clandesting with half of the calories of most other menu sandwiches. Compared to others, this number of honey mustard is not a bad option. However, Ujoatu stresses that its high sodium content should be taken very seriously: "In terms of calories, it's a good option, but it contains far too much sodium for a sandwich - not to mention an entire meal", declares ujoatu. The recommended daily sodium quantity is 2,300 milligrams, so you have to associate this sandwich with a large glass of water and forget to make it a meal - fries would push more than 1,780 milligrams of sodium and 900 calories.

Worse: The Zaxby Club

930 calories, 59 g of grease (13 g saturated grease, 3.5 g of trans grease), 2,300 mg of sodium, 51 g of carbohydrates (4 g of fiber, 5 g of sugar), 50 g of protein

Chicken fingers, bacon, American cheese, Mayo and Texas Toast, this sandwich especially is extremely glutton in all respects. In addition to containing a day of day calories, it is also packed with insane amounts of sodium (2,300 milligrams!) And grease (59 grams-3.5 are trans fat from the artery!). "This should be removed from the menu," says Ujoatu. "This sandwich contains more calories than some people should consume a whole day, plus an insane amount of fat and sodium sodium quantity. This is a non-complete!"

salad

Best: Garden salad Caesar

280 calories, 12 g of fat (6 g saturated grease, 1 g of trans grease), 730 mg sodium, 23 g of carbohydrates (3 g of fiber, 4 g of sugar), 18 g protein protein

This mix of green, with a little bacon and parmesan cheese, reigns as the superior choice above other "zalaads" on menus loaded with unnecessary trim such as fried onions, texas toast and fingers of chicken. Although bacon adds a little extra sodium, Ujoati has a professional tip: "Ask the cheese on the side. In this way, you can save sparingly and always get the flavor without the alarming amount of sodium." It also advises to remove the crowd on saving additional calories and carbohydrates. Just make sure you choose your dressing wisely.

Worst: Cobb fried salad

820 calories, 46 g of fat (16 g saturated grease, 2 g of trans fat), 1,970 mg of sodium, 42 g carbohydrates (6 g of fiber, 6 g sugar), 58 g protein

Although it is obvious that chicken fingers are a bad choice on grilled chicken, there are even more traps at this salad than meeting the eye. First, Ujoatu stresses that a third of the high fat content (46 grams) is an unhealthy saturated fat, but there is also much more sodium (thanks to the bacon, to texas breaded, cheese and toast offers) and the protein that needed. "This salad is just as bad as eating a hamburger," she says. "People tend to focus on protein and think they need a lot of things. But the average person needs about 50 grams in total all day. And, like any other thing, all the excess that you do not spend through the exercise is stored wholesale. " So even if it's technically salad and technically protein, he will always become big. And it does not even include the vinaigrette!

Bandage

Best: Ranch Vinaigrette

160 calories, 16 g of grease (2.5 g saturated), 290 mg of sodium, 2 carbohydrates of 2 g (0 g of fiber, 1 g of sugar), 1 g protein

Unemployed, buttermilk-based ranch is the best option among all the dressings of Zaxby salad. And although you can be tempted to choose Caesar for the best salad option, Repensez-y: it has Sky-High-sodium - 440 milligrams to be exact. Sodium relies on seemingly healthy and "Lite" dressings such as vinaigrette and the Lite Ranch are also high. Ujoatu recommends to dress up your own salad slightly. "The whole package is too much, and half is usually sufficient because most are sodium traps," she says. "In addition, when you have all these other tasty stuff on your salad, like cheese and bacon, you do not need to add a lot of other flavors, just a hint of vinaigrette."

Worst: Mediterranean dressing

140 calories, 14 g of fat (2 g saturated grease), 590 mg of sodium, 4 g of carbohydrates (1 g of fiber, sugar 3 g), 0 g protein

Of course, 140 calories may seem attractive, but 590 milligrams of sodium are alarming. For that alone, it deserves to avoid completely. Ujoatu even recommends a thousand island dressing (230 calories and 180 milligrams of sodium) on this option. "We put a lot of focus on fat, but sodium is scary," she says. "Cardiac diseases and high blood pressure are serious concerns, which should be avoided at all costs."

Sides

Best: Celery

10 calories, 0 g of grease, 120 mg of sodium, 2 g of carbohydrates (0 g fiber, 1 g sugar), 0 g protein

Although some can consider it boring, celery is by far the ultimate option when choosing on one side at ZAXBY. Parallel to the caloric sides, fat alternatives such as Texas Toast and Fries, these cut vegetables are the obvious decision if you need something to accompany your wings or chicken sandwich. Just make sure to transmit the ranch. Otherwise, as Ujoati points out, you take a collation of 10 calories and that you transform it into 200 calories with one side of the sauce. "Marketing makes us want and you feel like we need the sauce on the side," she says. "But there are better things like hummus and peanut butter you can enjoy with her." Or simply in snack on the bites of hot wings.

Worse: Frozen fries basket with zaxe sauce

910 calories, 51 g of grease (7 g saturated grease), 1 140 mg of sodium, 106 g of carbohydrates (9 g of fiber, sugar 3 g), 10 g of protein

As we have seen several times on the ZAXBY menu, salt is a red flag. Packed with almost enough calories and sodium for a whole day, these fries are a total trap. Do not even think about adding them to sandwiches or wings already loaded with sodium.

Dessert

Best: Oatmeal Flour Biscuit

160 calories, 6 g of grease (3.5 g saturated grease), 125 g sodium, 23 g of carbohydrates (1 g fiber, 12 g sugar), 2 g protein

The dessert is already an indulgence, then make an intelligent choice here is the key. Ujoatu advises you to watch not only calories and sugar, but also pay particular attention to the amount of fat. In this case, the least of all Zaxby's evils is the grape of oatmeal, which has the slightest amount of fat, calories and sugar, but also contains some fibers. "Dessert at a place like Zaxby's is really only for someone who takes a good decision throughout the meal," she says. "Oat cookies are the smartest because it's the only menu dessert with a little fiber."

Worst: Brownie

380 calories, 18 g of grease (10 g saturated grease), 190 mg of sodium, 52 g of carbohydrates (0 g of fiber, 25 g of sugar), 3 g protein

The digging in a Brownie Fudgy is tempting, but the massive amounts of saturated fat and sugar are not. This decadent dessert should be avoided at all costs because it contains two double carbohydrates and triple the grape cookie grease of oatmeal.
