Walmart will not accept returns on these items and customers are furious
Here is a smart way to get around.
For a few weeks,Walmart Slightly modified their usual return policy and returns and exchanges in stores forbidden during the coronavirus pandemic.According to their policyThey paused returns and trades in store for specific items for the moment, to ensure the safety of customers and employees. However, on June 15, Walmart raised restrictions on a number of states, but it is not yet available for all.
According to their website,Returns and exchanges are always temporarily paused in Arkansas, California, Illinois and South Carolina. They are also paused in New Jersey and Minnesota to follow local orders that prevent returns throughout the state.
Nowadays, returns and stores are available for all purchases that took place between April 20 and June 29 in the following states: Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Wyoming. Customers can return items with a receipt before September 29th.
According to ABC7 ChicagoWalmart's return policy has left clients angry with disadvantages.
What are the restricted elements?
If your region still restricts returns and trading in store, these are the items you will not be able to return:
- Food
- Merchandise
- Home cleaning supplies
- Laundry soap
- Pharmacy
- Health beauty
- Clothing goods
However, Walmart understands that some of these items will have to be returned, so they offer a virtual solution to customers to make their returns.
What should restricted states do?
There is an easy way to circumvent the restrictions of Walmart's return policy. Instead of returning purchases in the store, Walmart offers online returns for customers who have received a receipt. To do this, you are just going to the Walmart application ortheir website and fill out the form for a return. So, if you are still in a restricted state, just turn it online!
If you are not able to return it online, Walmart says to hold it. All articles in these categories affected will have a prolonged return period on them for up to six weeks.
