These fruits at Walmart simply have not been recalled because of the Listeria epidemic

A food package has recalled pre-cut fruit containers from different sizes.


A new reminder of fresh products affects hundreds ofWalmart Locations in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

Fresh countries, a pre-cut fruit packer, has published a voluntary recall ofMelon of fresh water in cube October 1st. The fruit, sold in Walmart stores and Racetrac gas stations, may have been contaminated by the Listeria, a bacterium that can cause a deadly infection in humans. The reminder has since been expanded to includeVarious containers of "guaranteed freshness" cut and trenched apples, grapes, mangos, pineapple and cantaloupes distributed by Walmart, according toLast advert by American food and drugs (FDA).

The containers of the recalled watermelon have a date from the date of October 4, while the other fruit containers of the expanded reminder have a range of dates maximum from October 3 to 11. For a detailed list of recalled products, check outFDA website.

The reminders were motivated by a discovery of Listeria monocytogenes on equipment in the Fruit Packagers facilities during a routine inspection. Walmart has since deleted the affected products of their stores and the FDA advises consumers to throw fruit if they have at home.

So far, no case of illness has been reported resulting from this epidemic, according to the FDA.

It is the third epidemic of Listeria that prompted product reminders in the major retailers this year.
