This grocery chain offers free breakfast for veterans and families

The 256 pitches of the Midwestern Grocer are participating.


The pandemic does not stopgrocery store chainHy-vee to continue its tradition of honoring military service each November. The retailer welcomes aDrive-Thru Breakfast Giveaway on Veterans Day, as well as funds to support military families.

All veterans and active military members are invited to any Hy-Vee location with their families for a free breakfast on Wednesday, November 11. With COVID-19 precautions in place, meals will be packaged individually and will be distributed via contactless windows with in-store parking spaces. And what kind of breakfast can veterinarians wait? A representative for Hy-Vee saidEat this, not that! That the chain will serve the preferred classics of each: eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast. The retailer expects to give more than 90,000 meals in its 256 stores located on Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Veterans will also be able to nabote a 10% discount on their grocery purchases at the federal holidays.

All other buyers can support veterans by participating in the collection of homefront gathering funds from the retailer, which will be held from November 1 to 15. At its eighth year, the donation-based event takes place at the counter of the Caisse , where customers can round off their purchases to the nearest dollar (or the amount of their choice).

HY-VEE is all donations from all customers up to $ 100,000, with all non-profit products that help veterans, active military members and their families. The group of organizations includes: Hope for warriors, the first answer operation, the Juke Puppy Foundation and the American Red Cross.
