A class action filed on behalf of customers in Portland, Oregon requests than the grocerBrand of JUST FRUIT jams is deceptively marked, which causes disappointment and confusion around the actual ingredients and benefits for the overall health of the product.

Just fruit jams are sold under internally the Kroger etiquette and are announced as "spreadable fruit", which makes them appear very little treated and using only simple, healthy ingredients, the trial states. However, the list of ingredients on these jams tells another story. The first ingredient is the fruit syrup, and the product contains a number of other non-fruit ingredients such as sweetening, added sugars, concentrated apple juice, pectin and calcium citrate.

It really seems far from the clean jam people, healthy think they get when they buy a product called "Just Fruit. »

Health of replacement products are more in demand than ever. Customers are willing to pay premiums for "clean" products with minimal additives, sugar in particular added. By calling their Just Fruit jams, Kroger is accused of knowingly indulging in the deceptive brand image that would create stronger demand for their product.

"Defendants are sophisticated grocer entities that manufacture and sell a number of products, and may be presumed to have an understanding of federal food labeling requirements," the trial states. Kroger is still responding to these reports.
