More than 211,000 pounds of meat can be contaminated with Salmonella.


The Food Security and Inspection Service of the United States of Agriculture has published aPublic health alert on more than 211,000 pounds of Turkey products on the ground related toSalmonella Sickness after a multistate epidemic.

Turkey's ground products were produced between December 18 and December 29, 2020, by Pennsylvania Company Plainville Brands, LLC. A reminder was not issued because "we think products are no longer available for consumers to buy." However,They can always be frozen in your freezer.

28 confirmedSalmonellaCases Since December 28, 2020, at least one person has identified the holding of Turkey on the ground, and an unopened package collected from their positive tested domicile for bacteria. "The evidence collected to date does not connect all diseases to this institution," says the alert. "On the basis of the continuing survey, additional products from other institutions may be involved."

The affected products include packages of 1 and 3 pounds of ground turkey under the promise of nature, Farms of Plainville and Wegman. They were sold in detail places across the country. Symptoms ofSalmonella The infection can include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. In older adults, infants and those with compromised immune systems, an infection can develop into a serious illness.
