The worst food trends in 2019

PSA: Celery juice and oregano oil are not gaiters.

Food has the ability to hit high ups ... and such low low. It is a blank canvas for some of the greatest innovations of humanity, such as grilled cheese, and some of his strangest things taken, like grilled cheese hacks that put on fire (more on that in a little) .

As fun as to look back on all the wonderful things we have encountered in the world of food this year, it's as fun to look back where we failed. Here are 10 food trends that we can all solve from 2019.

1

Catering Hotels

It is difficult to hate Nutella and Taco Bell, but I will do it in this rare case. Recently, brands started creating "hotels" or airbnbs on pop-up where it is almost impossible to get a reservation. In the case ofThe Nutella HotelYou must submit a video to spring up on the spread.

TheTaco Bell HotelMeanwhile, was a pop-up of four nights that was sold almost immediately. (This toodoes not really seem to have earned the hype IRL.) It is clear that brands are really out of these exclusive short-term crash blocks: many and a lot of press. Hoping that we owe a little less credulous (or maybe more easily bored by it) next year.

Edible coal

Refuge

The charcoal in the food will not die. After showing the skin care a few years ago, Charcoal went to the grocery store. Now it is mainly used as an ingredient of detoxification, but health demands are at best shaking. The only real use of the known health of charcoal is intended for people hospitalized because of the toxin exposure or overdose of drugs - in other words, people who need real detox.

3

The loser on a chicken sandwich

Listen, the hydrocarbon threshing is fun and there is nothing wrong with jump through hoops to try a buzzing dish. But we can all agree that no sandwich, no matter the delicious, worth itStabbing someone on, as was the case with the Popeyes chicken sandwich.

And although physical confrontations are relatively rare, long lines and howled abuses during employees were more common. Can not we all agree to go to Chick-Thé-A until the lines are dying?

4

Colorful frappuccinos

Graceful Starbucks

TheUnicorne frappuccino was a bit more than an opportunity to photograph of indignable social media whoBaristas hated.

But, proving that we have not learned anything last July, Starbucks has published a successor even more colorful of the spicy throne of Frappuccino: theTie Dye Frappuccino. A mix of felluring flavors that are also enormous pain for baristas to do, drink brought to criticism less than you enthusiast. Even the brightest colorful drink is worth it for gram if it tastes like a pussy banana and a cough syrup.

The Aperol Spritz Wars

Refuge

Even the gray lady is not greater than the agitation of the drama. Back before taking away most stars from Peter Luger,The New York Times ran into controversy in another way: byDeclare the terrible Aperol Spritzes. Apparently, one of his greatest sins is a cocktail that has been dreamed by the manufacturers of Aperol to promote the drink.

But is it really such a sin? So many beloved dishes, Chex Mix to the onion dip, started as recipes sold with the product of a company. The other problem is that it's just too sweet, although the millions of fans of Apero have disagreed. Unless the Aperol becomes a compulsory summer drink, all accept everyone to enjoy everything they are that they want in the summer of 2020.

6

FALSE YOUTUBE HACKS FOOD

YouTube has gone from a site of video of granular pranks and cats on keyboards with polished and very produced channels. Many creators are essentially small businesses, relying on advertising revenue to pay invoices. But as the platform algorithm has changed to promote longer and longer videos, small producers are left in longer YouTube canal dust likeFlower,Tram, andFive minutes crafts. The so-called hacks of these channels tend to be useless and aimed at becoming virals, rather than offering fast success tips.

Go for visuals on real results, some of these videos can be huge waste of money if an attempt.Other "hacks" are downright dangerousAs when a YouTube spectator apparently had his microwave exploding after trying a microwave a pencil (the idea being that you can transform the diamond pencil graphite). For more than this phenomenon, Ann Reardon, a Youtuber Australian cooking,Explains on his own channel why many of these hacking videos are not accurate. Sometimes, if it sounds too good to be true, it could be.

7

Condiment Mashups

The mixed condiments together are not necessarily bad. After all, that's what we need to thank for most "secret" sauces with burger joints. But nobody really needs to buy something called "Kranch" at the store. Is it really so hard to squirt a mustard on your bread, then follow it with a manual smear for "Mayomust?" You do not need a single container to give you both together.

And if you like Mayo and Ketchup together or barbecue and Mayo, there are chances that you will have these sauces anyway. In addition, you abandon all the control of the amount of each sauce by purchasing it pre-blend. It is like a dipping version of these peanut butter jars that look like scratches. Would not you prefer to customize propagation to your liking?

8

Celery juice

There is nothing wrong with drinking celery juice if that's what you are in. But you should not see it as a healing - all that will help get rid of acne, cure diseases and using weight loss - science has foundNo evidence to safeguard these claims.

The celery juice caught the Kardashians, Robert de Niro and Liv Tyler in his net. And it is largely the work of a man: Anthony William, called "Medical Media". Since all his wellness empire is based on the juice, it's a trend that is not going anywhere soon.

9

Orean oil

Like celery juice, Oregano oil was considered a healing - all for a number of evils. Some celebrities will swear for an immune boost, but there is not a lot of scientific evidence to show that it really fights colds.

10

Makeup "Food"

Glamlite is first gone viral in 2018 with a pizza eyeshadow palette, then followed this year with aBurger Collection which included French fries (?!) And aTaco Collection.

I Coeur Revolution, another brand of makeup of novelty, also published the theme pallets of food this year, including"Tasty lawyer" andhot dog theme Eyeshadow pallets.

Although there have been very portable examples of food theme beauty, it goes far beyond some chocolate themed eyelids in hot neutrals or lipstick in bright cherries. Instead, many of these collections have colors that do not have much to do with the food itself or are too literal to be a lot of good. (Does anyone need a bunch of green eyeshadow?) It's Gimmicky and is not worth the obsessors of beauty.

You do not need Celery or Oregano oil juice to stay healthy, and you certainly have no need to stay in a food-branded hotel for a good holiday. 2020 is sure to hold many trends, but I hope it will be less gimmicky than these.
