How to clean a pot (bad) burned
Whether just onions jumped too long, or warming all your dinner, you can save your pot.
So you dohaving dinnerAnd suddenly, you suddenly realize that the pieces of your ingredients are blocked in the pan or saucepan, and before you can scratch them, they started burning. It happens to the best of us. When the food is placed on hot pots, typically stainless steel or enamelled cast iron, a chemical bond forms between the two that makes the food stick.
At first, this can be a good thing - pieces of caramelized meat and vegetables stuck in the bottom of a saucepan are called background (it's French for "substance" or "base"). If you add a little wine, stock or water to the pan at this point, you will glaze, which means that the melted will take off from the bottom of the pot and will incorporate into your dish.
However, if you let it go too far, the melted will burn, leaving you with a bad disorder. Although your dinner is gone, do not worry, your pot, your stove or your Dutch oven is recoverable. So, how do you clean a burnt pot effectively? Try these steps.
Try it first: the boiling water method
The following method works better immediately after burning food.
1. Scratch the food bits
Scrape all the burning foods you can. Immediately after removing all the food, fill the pot of about 1 inch water.
2. Boil the water
Place the stove, turn the burner up and bring the water to a boil. Boil for about 5 minutes.
3. Scratch the bottom
Use a spatula (a fish spatula works really well, but a plastic or silicone also works) or a wooden spoon to gently scrape the bits burned from the bottom of the pan. Keep boil (add more water if necessary) and scrape until all burned bits are lifted.
4. Wash the pot
Once the pot is clean of all the burned particles, wash it as you would normally.
To truly bad case: the method of baking soda and vinegar
If you waited several hours to do the dishes, or your pot is particularly brutal, the technique of boiling water alone might not be sufficient. In this case, go to this method with vinegar and soda bicarbonate.
5. Sprinkle with baking soda
Sprinkle a uniform baking layer of soda throughout the burned area.
6. Add vinegar and hot water
Add vinegar to baking soda - it will fart like a scientific experience of children. Its good! Add hot water and let yourself be rest for a few hours before cleaning the clean pot.
7. Boil again if necessary
For the most stubborn-burned particles that will simply not take off with a cleaning, try boiling the mix of water and vinegar and scraping again with a spatula.
