Air New Zealand tests edible coffee cups
The drinks service has become the snack service.
Imagine this: you are served a cup of hot coffee, then, just after shot your daily caffeine dose, you arrive atcup! Well, on Air New Zealand, it could become the new normal when you order Joe's cup during the drinks service.
This is true: the airline tests a vanilla-flavored coffee cup (almost cookie) for grunette customers while traveling towards their destination.
The airline collaborates withTwiceA new Zerlandan-based company specializing in the manufacture of coffee cups and edible dessert.

The edible cup will look like a biscotti (what else is better with coffee?) Made with the usual suspects: wheat flour, sugar, egg and natural vanilla flavor. And if you wonder if this cup may or may not resist the heat of a cup of fresh coffee, do not worry: like a typical biscotti, these cups will be durable and robust.
"The cups were a great success with the customers who used them and we also used cups like dessert bowls," said Niki Chave, the main director of the client experience at Air New Zealand, in aPress release.
It's just another solution that the airline works on waste reduction. In 2019, Air New Zealand exchanged plastic coffee cups for paper-based plants and corn. This switch is intended to prevent15 million cups to stack each year in the discharge.
