An easy recipe of marinated onions
Meet your new favorite condiment.
The stripping is for more than pickles. Almost everything changes on a given food when you corroil. What was hard becomes soft, which was gentle becomes complex and spicy. Case: Gross onions can be harsh and exceeded, but a solution of vinegar removes the edge and replaces it with a beautiful sweet spicy bite. Is about 2 cups
You will need
White or red wine vinegar 3/4
3/4 cup of water
2 c.
1 C. TSP salt
2 bay leaves
Pinch of red pepper flakes
2 red onions, sliced in thin lines
How to do it
- Combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, bay leaves and pepper flakes in a small saucepan and heat until the liquid starts to simmer. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes.
- Place onions in a jar or sealing container and pour the liquid onions.
- These are ready to be used almost immediately (give them at least 20 minutes of soaking)
And stay covered in the refrigerator for a week.
