"We are starting to better understand the molecular foundations of how the exercise affects the body and uses this knowledge to understand the metabolic architecture around the exercise intervention models," the author co-directs Ravi Shah, MD, explains to theHarvard Gazette. "This approach has the potential to target people with high blood pressure or many other metabolic risk factors in response to the exercise and put them on a healthier trajectory at the beginning of their lives."
