Fruits in Meijer remembered because of the contamination of Salmonella

Another fruit producer has detected a contamination in their cantaloupe.


It was a bad week to fruit with great retailers. AfterWalmart shot various containers Cut and trenched apples, grapes, mangos, pineapple and cantaloups of their shelves because of an outbreak of Listeria, the FDA announced another potentially contaminated fruit reminder.

Eagle products, LLC chain and grocery storeMeijer have issued a reminder onCantaloupe and some items containing a pre-cut cantaloupe due to potential contamination with Salmonella.(In touch:21 best healthy cooking hacks of all time.)

The Cantaloupe was sold in the 253 pitches of Meijer Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin between September 26 and October 5.

The entire fruit can have a "brand Kandy from Eagle Product, LLC" Sticker, but the FDA advises that even cantaloupe without identifying the sticker purchased from the retailer should be considered as part of the reminder and not consumed. If you bought Cantaloupe that can be affected by this reminder, you will be advised to throw it immediately or return it to the nearest Meijer store for a full refund.

No illness has been reported to date connected to this reminder. According to the FDA, Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, fragile people or the elderly, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy adults infected with bacteria may experience symptoms such as fever, diarrhea (which can be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
