You will never see this again in the Aldi product section

Everything is part of a much larger plan ...

Whore will gradually foam product packaging by the end of 2021 for the purpose of reducing waste, the grocery chain revealed recently in aDurable update.

Some ALDI fruits and vegetables are packed with a polystyrene foam, a material containing potentially harmful chemicals and never decomposes. Instead, the company will move to reusable, recyclable or compostable materials with a target of reducing packaging materials of 15% 2025. The update of the product packaging is another part of the current sustainability efforts at ALDI. The low-cost grocery chain now uses natural refrigerants in about 400 of its stores and all its warehouses. It also has solar panels set up in 111 stores and 12 distribution centers - and the list continues!

"The overall impact of plastics can not be ignored," Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi U.S., says. "We can not get rid of the plastic all night, but we continue to work to eliminate plastics wherever we can. Where we need plastic, we are committed to choosing materials that contribute to a circular plastic economy "

Speaking about getting rid of the plastic, did you know that Aldi has never used single-use plastic bags during his payment counters? It sells only reusable plastic fabrics and plastic bags, which have claimed maintained more than 15 billion bags out of nature.

These are not the only major movements that occur in the supermarket chain at the end. For more, here's here5 Changes Aldi does now. And to get all the latest news from the grocery delivered directly to your inbox by email every day,Subscribe to our newsletter!
