This emblematic grocery chain retains closing locations
The reason behind the closures could surprise you.
After opening its doors in September 1916 as the first self-service supermarket,Wiggly porcly cemented his place like one of the most emblematicgrocery stores in America. Previously, customers would give their grocery lists to clerks, who would recover the items of store shelves. It goes without saying that this innovative method of shopping has revolutionized the grocery industry as we know it.
More than 100 years later, Piggly Wiggly is still active with 530 sites in 17 states. However, he recently closed two stores in a month. The first location (Faison, N.c.) closes its doors on July 24 after almost 50 years of business, according to theDuplin Time. The second store (Dothan, Ala.) Shuttera four weeks later on August 21st, the local press stationWtvy reports.
The two supermarkets are closed for the same reason - and the cause could surprise you.

For its part, the location of Dothan had panels displayed at the main entrance revealing that the store was closed because of a labor shortage. In its absence, buyers are encouraged to visit another location from the Wiggly Porcy on the Montgomery motorway, byWtvy.
Although these announcements are unfortunate news for local communities served by Piggly Wiggly, they are not a sign of disorders for society in general. C & S Wholesale grocery storeRecently announced plans Buy Piggly Wiggly Midwest, which includes 11 business locations in Chicago and 84 Wisconsin franchises.
In addition, a new wiggly wiggly store is ready to open in a food desert in Spartanburg, SC after saving much left the same location in 2019, public transport customers have been forced to take a trip of three at five o'clock at the nearest supermarket, according toRise.
