Not just that girls have undergone several surgeries! The twins are born with a third underdeveloped arm branching from their chest. For this to be cut, they had to come under the knife. The second time they suffered surgery, while they were only 12 years old. The surgery was made to repair their scoliosis (curvature of the spine). It was followed by another surgery which increased the expansion of their thoracic cavity so as not to find difficulty breathing in the future. Their unusual state hindered not only their health, but their social life too.

Unique problems

Because of their shape of unusual body, they had to deal with unusual problems in their childhood. To learn to get up, crawl or walk is a difficult feat for every child, but for the twins, it was much more problematic because they had two minds working on a body that often intersect. The girls took 15 months to learn the walk. They took little time to learn other basic activities. In an amazing way, despite these problems, the duo did not accept to give up any activity. The result is that today's girls are well trained to cycle, run, swim and even drive a car. The extraordinary twins did not know that a great opportunity was going to knock on their door.

Come to life

The twins became Girl of Life magazine covered in 1996 at the age of 6. Their photo had the legend of "a body, two souls". The magazine burst out of their life and the extraordinary challenges they meet every day. He documented the life path of the twins. The magazine made them quite popular in his hometown and in the world. But it was just the beginning of the fame they were going to have in the future. Few knew something very unexpected was on their way!

The same year, girls would testify to another phenomenal moment. Winfrey Oprah was very interested in these twins. She wanted to know them personally, so she invited them to her show. The episode was a big success and girls became popular even more. Everything was because of their popularity that the twins are called again on the show. It was only a teaser of what would happen to them in the future.

Joint twins, not always good

They are the best half of the other in the real sense. The girls control each half of the body. Abby and Brittany control the arm and leg of their body. So, to stay, walk and choose things, they need support from each other. Usually, this is not a problem, but sometimes it becomes really irritated. There were cases where Abby wanted to have a favorite walk and Brittany sitting on the couch. And sometimes, Brittany wanted to sleep early but Abby had no intention of going to bed. These differences in Abby require something that was the least expected.

Although the twins share the same body, they have always been considered individuals separate by their family and friends. They also take like distinct individuals, for example, buy two tickets for the movie and they also have two driving licenses. They order different meals in the restaurant and wear clothes of their own choice.

Joined for life

In 2002, they made another appearance on television with another documentary called "joined for life" by advanced medical productions. The documentary was distributed on the Canal of the Discovery Health. The documentary was followed by another documentary called to bare. Dangers to come

The twins live a great familiar life. But unfortunately, their perfect life is not above the dangers.
