You may agree that Christmas Eve is the most awaited day in a child's life. John also had a special emotion attached to this festival. The day before was very special for him not only because of the celebration, but for the fact that his mother pursued something very strange that day. Sue, John's mother used to disappear on Christmas Eve. She would disappear for three hours and would come back without explaining anyone. It did not happen one or twice but at every Christmas Eve. And when asked, she would try. Thus, past years and a Sue day abandoned his soul in the early 1970s. He seemed that Sue's secret had remained with her until a letter arrived from a foreigner named Robert.

John's story

John Dorrah loved Christmas like any other child of his childhood. Why would not it be? After all, Christmas brings them new clothes, new toys and holidays. Everything seems to be so beautiful that day. The whole city covered with snow scintils with decorative lights. No surprising Christmas is the most awaited day of children's lives. And the best part consists in getting Santa's gifts. John spent his childhood in Highland, Illinois with his mother, Sue.

Christmas Eve

The Christmas Eve, John got up early in the morning looking for the gift and after that, he would take a shower and wear new clothes. His mother used to make special dishes that day. He would eat them all and let out to play with his friends. That's how he had spent his Christmas. However, there was one thing that was stuck like a painful inch.

Disappearance

Every Christmas his mother would disappear for a few hours without telling him. It happened since he was very small. It was not only him, but anyone, even in his friend, circle, everyone did not know where she was going to go. It did not go one or twice but each Christmas. The little boy wondered where his mother and even asked her but never had a real answer. Sue always lightened me and he knew it. Finally, he abandoned and ceased to ask him about the question. He did not bother me his disappearance as long as she would make it in a few hours.

Moving away

John describes his mother's strange behavior that day celebration. She would rise to all her housework and after that would take her key and go to a mysterious destiny. The boy wonders where she was directed towards every Christmas Eve. Once he asked him a question of this mysterious adventure of her that she undertakes. John became a writer

John grew up to become a writer and teacher. He had actually made the pursuit of him. The man had excelled in his career for writing and teaching him that gave him the opportunity to travel around the world. The man stayed at Mississippi and was employed in a school for 30 years after moving to Georgia and England.

John is currently working as a consultant in the Gateway drafting project (GWP) that is helped by the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Its role asks him to travel to many schools to help teachers and students at work relating to reading and writing. This is how John uses both passion and work. His work is a perfect combination of what he liked to do, that is to say. Teach and write.
