Focus on Shevchenko's literature has helped the exile in Orenburg. One of its conditions was banned on creative activity. Hide drawing would be difficult, so Taras began to pay more attention to literature. It is in Orenburg that most of his novels are written.

Despite the fact that the combination did not marry, and did not leave children, in his life there were at least two strong lovers. First - Oksana Kovalenko - was the daughter of his neighbors. The parents of a young couple approved their possible marriage, but Taras chose a dream to learn. However, Oksana he mentioned all his life. Already in St. Petersburg, he became acquainted with the maid of Luceria Polasmak. Here, the fate was repeated on the contrary - Lukeria wanted to live only at home in the village, so left Taras in the capital of Russia. She married, but after the death of her husband often responded to Shevchenko's grave.

Almost all Ukrainians are aware of the grave of Shevchenko on Cherniva Mountain near Kanev. But few people knows that the combination was buried twice. Due to the fact that he died in St. Petersburg, and the issue with a violation permission in Ukraine and transport failed to decide quickly, the first time Taras Grigorovich was buried at the Smolensk cemetery. And this grave is still preserved.
