Here are the main things in which the media is wrong about pregnancy and the process of having a child.

People have many opinions about pregnancy and childbirth, and not all are true. The media does not help to perpetuate these stereotypes and myths, and most of the films are totally wrong in the process. Here are the main things in which the media is wrong about pregnancy and the process of having a child.

1. Be pregnant at middle age is very easy

Anyone who has seen "Bridget Jones's Baby" knows of this old antinomy. But women over 40 tend to have more problems to conceive than "accidental" pregnancies that often occur in movies for middle-aged women. Without the help of a doctor, the naturally low ovarian reserve and the quality of the ovules makes things much more difficult.

2. All infertility problems are women's fault

It seems to us a particularly rude stereotype, and it is not true since men and women are more or less in the same place when it comes to who faces more infertility. Infertility is given in at least 30% of men, so, why do women have all the fault in the cinema?

3. With the right type, the baby arrives that was meant to be

We rarely see a movie in which the woman has frozen her ovules or has a single son. It is an annoyance that we do not see too many examples on the screen of a woman raising her son alone of her, as she is a fairly common scenario. However, it is still completely stigmatized in movies, or man leaves, or is a surprise more than a conscious choice of being a mother.

4. She lives between the panic disaster and the silly superficial princess

Instead of being seen as a real human being with her own personality (not everything disappears with pregnancy). The life of her as we know her disappears and she becomes a "crazy pregnant". Outside this chillion stereotype is Tontilla.

5. As for birth, they only have it and move away from the matter

Many midwives believe that it is necessary to be conscious and connected with your child in the labor and pregnancy work process. Sometimes during childbirth there are screams, pears or positions, including hands and knees and squatting. It is not just about being lying on your back with your knees open for a few minutes. Women are strong warriors and the process is not as mechanical as Hollywood wants you to think.

6. Pregnant only thumbing fingers

Many couples go through IVF, subrogation or other situations when they try to have a baby. But in the movies, they see them getting pregnant the first time they try, or by accident. Although an accidental pregnancy is certainly a reality, it is not the most common way in which couples who try pregnant. Having a child is something that many women crave, and many feelings of insufficiency come with that. The inaccurate scenes in the films can worsen that.

7. Midwives only appear during a crisis

In the films, when the husband disappears, or the wife has been abandoned in some other way, the midwife appears. It is almost as if they were treated as an emergency curita, instead of a well-planned process for months in advance. Not everything is chaos and hippies ridiculous, midwives and doulas are a means for empowered mothers, not a high-risk or badly calculated decision.

8. Birth is a complete horror show

Certainly there is nothing easy to have a baby, but the films have the responsibility to stop doing the experience of the most terrifying delivery and exorcist of what it really is. All births are different, from those of the epidural to those of cesareans. But even when childbirth pain is experienced, it is a powerful pain instead of one similar to a disease or trauma, and films should describe it as such.

9. First come the contractions, then the baby comes

Beyond the dramatic cries of films that are often used to represent pregnancy, contractions are also often frequently fictitious. Gynecologists say that it is not very common for a woman to break the source and immediately after he has intense contractions. Contractions can be produced before the source is broken, or can be delayed for hours, days or weeks after the break.

10. Bright skin and a face full of makeup during pregnancy

Even when they do not bring an impeccable makeup, these women seem more radiant supermodels than a stressful disorder after giving birth. It would be good to see a more realistic representation instead of a brightness in a fashion magazine. Many women develop hormonal acne and other skin problems during pregnancy. Something called cloasma causes the skin of the face darkening, while others have a black line in the stomach. This is never represented in the cinema!
