You could associate flower crowns with music festivals and coachella, but for Ukrainian women, flower crowns are part of their national heritage for hundreds of years.


In the past, the crown of flowers, "Vinok" in Ukraine, was associated with purity. The girls wore them to carry them to signify their youth and their beauty. Wear crowns of flowers for her wedding was also a great tradition in the past.


However, this tradition has been forgotten for years and women have stopped carrying crowns of flowers. It has become something archaic and is only suitable for those who participate in historical reconstructions or part of a national part of it.


But after the 2014 Revolution in Ukraine, flower crowns come back.


Now they become a symbol of hope for the best future, symbol of peace and national pride. It becomes popular again to bring them to social events and special occasions, even weddings.


The Ukrainian workshop Treti Pivni (third rooster) is increasingly known around the world for taking beautiful pictures of Ukrainian women wearing traditional clothes and floral crowns on the head.
